Can’t Touch This! 14 No-Touch Greetings

I was just at a conference in February of about 3,000 just as we were learning more about the Coronavirus. This established event of over 60 years drew many of the same attendees year after year. A time to see old friends and make new. While this was an international event, the prominent form of greeting has always been the handshake with bows coming in second.  It was already evident at the 2020 event that people were starting to distance on their own. I know the registration staff was certainly refraining from the shake and adopting the head nod or bow. My guess, in 2021, there will be no handshakes at all. Jazz hands, maybe?

In an interview with The Journal podcast, Dr. Anthony Fauci, director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Disease, suggests two things people need to do differently as the country plans to get back to business: “One of them is absolute compulsive hand-washing. The other is you don’t ever shake anybody’s hands.”

Take a look here at Mashable’s 14 ways to greet someone that don’t involve shaking hands. I would add jazz hands to the list! Let us know if we can help!
